УСК Витебской области разыскивает мошенницу, обманувшую более 20 человек

A criminal case initiated against Bortnovskaya Maria Leontievna, born in 1956, under Part 4 of Article 209 (fraud committed on a particularly large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, is pending in the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region.

During the investigation, it was established that Bortnovskaya M.L. misappropriated cash funds of individuals from January 28, 2013, to March 21, 2014.

The woman, abusing the trust of her acquaintances, persuaded them to take out loans in their own names, assuring them that she would cover all loan expenses herself. In addition to arranging loans, the accused repeatedly borrowed large sums of money allegedly for the development of her own business, the improvement of her daughter's apartment, and the payment of her own expensive medical treatment.

She did not pay off the loans taken out in the names of her acquaintances and did not return the borrowed money.

After banks began to take measures to recover funds from clients with whom they had loan agreements, and victims started to report to law enforcement agencies, the accused disappeared.

Currently, there are more than 20 residents of the city of Vitebsk who are victims in the criminal case. All of them explain that they entrusted their funds to the accused because she had held leadership positions in various banking institutions in the city of Vitebsk for a long time.

The total damage caused by the accused to individuals amounts to approximately 500 million Belarusian rubles.

Bortnovskaya M.L. has been put on the wanted list. A pre-trial detention measure has been applied to the accused in absentia.

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region appeal to the residents of the city: if you know the whereabouts of Bortnovskaya M.L., or if you have been a victim of her criminal actions, please report it by calling: 102, 80212 48-66-37
