The installation of water meters has saved Br33 billion on subsidizing services for residents of the Vitebsk region

The installation of water meters in apartments of residents of the Vitebsk region has saved Br33 billion in budget funds on subsidizing services. This was announced today at a field meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee in Dubrovno by Yuri Dyadyolo, head of the housing and communal services department of the regional executive committee, BELTA correspondent reports. The installation of individual water meters, which was envisaged by the housing and communal services development program for 2006-2010, ensured a reduction in water consumption by the population, energy resources for extraction and delivery, savings of budget funds and citizens' funds. If in 2006, 40.8 million kWh were used for water supply services, then in 2009 - 29 million kWh. Over the four years of the program's implementation, water consumption has decreased by 38% compared to the 2005 level. 624.8 thousand water meters have been installed in the region, equipping 314.7 thousand apartments (98%). -0-
