Dear participants and guests of the XXV International Festival of Modern Choreography!

Since its inception, the dance forum in Vitebsk has harmoniously integrated into the fabric of cultural life and confidently become one of the most prestigious international cultural projects that honor our city and the Republic of Belarus.

The festival was born out of a love for art, recognition of traditions, and respect for the artistic heritage of the 1920s, when our city became one of the centers of Russian and European avant-garde art. And today, it remains true to its original goal – integrating the creative potential of the country in the field of contemporary choreography into the global cultural space.

Vitebsk and the festival are inseparable. The city, which has a reputation as a center of high culture and the status of the northern capital of Belarus, carefully nurtures talents, supports numerous cultural projects, cares about the revival of its architectural appearance, and the spiritual revival of society. It was the first in the post-Soviet space to call upon talented youth to say something new in contemporary choreography, to talk about their vision of the world through the language of dance.

Over a quarter of a century, thousands of artists from more than 40 countries have performed on the Vitebsk stage of the IFMC.

I wish the participants of the dance forum successful performances, interesting meetings, and pleasant impressions from getting acquainted with the renewed Vitebsk.
