Natural gas has been launched in the agro-town of Porplishche, Dokshitsy district
Addressing the residents of the agro-town, Vladimir Andreichenko emphasized that the gas pipeline was built in the shortest possible time: 5 km of the gas pipeline were built in one month instead of the planned two. He thanked everyone who participated in resolving this important issue for the population. "Creating comfortable living conditions for rural residents is one of the priorities of Belarus's state policy. The President pays great attention to this. Parliament passes relevant laws. Other authorities are also involved," the speaker noted. "Great attention is paid to the development of the social sphere of the districts. For example, much has been done in Dokshitsy in the field of education and healthcare. This year, we plan to open a dental clinic in the district center, and residents of the district will not have to travel to Vitebsk or other cities for appropriate care."
Vladimir Andreichenko stressed that ensuring comfortable conditions for the regions, especially for rural residents, is one of the priorities of Belarus's state policy. "We are continuing the work on improving agro-towns, which we started earlier, by supplying natural gas to such settlements. This makes rural housing more comfortable, cozy, and warm," the speaker noted.
Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev reported that all cities and urban-type settlements in the region are gasified. As for the agro-towns in the region, natural gas has been supplied to almost half of such settlements. "Porplishche became the 113th gasified agro-town. In this matter, the focus is on settlements with good development prospects. Porplishche is one of them. Production and social sphere will be developed here. Conditions will be created for young people to stay, families to be formed, and children to be born,"
said the head of the region. The ceremony was also attended by Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko and Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev. Together, they lit a symbolic torch and presented diplomas and letters of appreciation to the specialists involved in the construction of the gas pipeline.
Housing gasification in rural areas is carried out with significant state support. This was noted by the Minister of Energy of Belarus Vladimir Potupchik. "We pay a lot of attention to reducing the costs of our own electricity and heat energy production, and gasification services. The tariffs for thermal energy and gas for the population are significantly lower than in Russia, from which we buy natural gas. Currently, this type of fuel is subsidized through a cross-subsidy mechanism. The implementation of state programs for gasification, including in rural areas, continues in our country. In addition to solving the issue of bringing gas to settlements, the state helps to gasify houses. A 70% to 30% scheme is in effect. In this case, the state covers 70% of the costs, and the population pays 30%. People get the opportunity to bring inexpensive fuel to their homes with state support," Vladimir Potupchik told reporters after the ceremony.
In terms of gas pipeline length (260 km), Dokshitsy district ranks fourth in the region, second only to Vitebsk, Polotsk, and Orsha districts. In June, the agro-town of Barsuki in Dokshitsy district was gasified, and now natural gas has been supplied to the agro-town of Porplishche. The settlement has 276 households and is home to over 700 residents. Porplishche has a secondary school, a kindergarten, a medical outpatient clinic, a House of Culture, a comprehensive reception center, and retail outlets.
The industrial sector is represented by OJSC "Barsuchanka", the "Porplishche" dairy farm; the agro-town features a grain drying complex and mechanical workshops. The cost of the laid gas pipeline section is Br335 thousand. It is planned to connect residential buildings and the grain drying complex.Rural gasification is one of the
tasks of the state program "Comfortable Housing and a Conducive Environment".
The accessibility of natural gas for rural residents is addressed by the
provisions of Decree No. 368 of June 2, 2006 (state support is provided for
gasification consumer cooperatives).
