Gas has arrived in the agro-town of Borzdovka, Orsha district

The agrotown of Borzdovka in the Orsha district has been supplied with gas on the eve of the heating season. In the near future, 207 residents of the settlement will be able to use blue fuel. The ceremonial launch of natural gas was attended by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Nikolai Lisovsky, and the General Director of Vitebskoblgaz Petr Shershen.

– In the Orsha district, 13 out of 15 agrotowns have been gasified, – noted the head of the region. – Gas in the house means warmth and comfort. Gas at enterprises is a condition for creating new productions and jobs, and jobs mean new families and children, which is what we strive for in rural areas. There should be young people here, production should develop. With blue fuel, the village begins to live in a new way.

Expressing words of gratitude to Petr Shershen, specialists and workers of Vitebskoblgaz, the governor announced tasks for the future.

– The district should become one of the best in the country, – he emphasized. – We need to modernize equipment, machinery, and technologies. We are already on this path. Integration structures have been created, Decree No. 320 "On the Development of Agricultural Production in the Vitebsk Region" has been signed, thanks to which changes will occur in the region as a whole and directly in the Orsha district.
Nikolai Sherstnev also touched upon the topic of school education. He said that the optimization of small-sized institutions is being carried out in the region.
– Schools are being closed in districts where 5-10 children study and 20 teachers work, and the quality of education is not the best, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. – In order for a child to enter a university, parents are forced to resort to the services of tutors and, with a low salary, look for money for them. Based on the Borzdovka school, we will create a good school-educational center where children from nearby villages will also study.

The governor also mentioned that it is planned to attach the House of Culture premises to the local school to accommodate a sports hall, an assembly hall, and classrooms for electives and clubs. The construction of a stadium is also planned.

Meanwhile, the residents of Borzdovka are actively discussing the advantages of natural gas. Marina Barabanshchikova, a local resident and mother of many children, cannot stop praising this benefit of civilization. Her house was gasified thanks to the financial assistance of SFH "Brazdetchino," which covered all expenses for the purchase and installation of equipment. The woman has already calculated the savings in her family budget by replacing the electric water heater with a gas one. Moreover, the problem with firewood and gas cylinders will become a thing of the past.

Tamara Ivanova from the village of Pechishche, the chairperson of the first newly established cooperative for 40 people, has everything ready for equipment installation. She has chosen a boiler, a new gas stove, meters, and radiators.

It is noteworthy that the gas supply work to Borzdovka was completed in a record short time – less than a month. Nearly 13 km of high-pressure gas pipeline, including the installation of a cabinet gas distribution point, were laid using internal resources, with the involvement of equipment and personnel from their branches. Therefore, according to Alexander Brantsevich, Deputy General Director for Capital Construction of the enterprise "Vitebskoblgaz," it was possible to save about 4 billion non-denominated rubles.

– The estimated cost of the facility was 8 billion, but we built it for half that amount, – he reported. – Borzdovka became the 109th agro-town in the region to be gasified. The supply of natural gas to district centers was completed in 2007, and since then, systematic work has been underway to gasify rural settlements. The nearest prospects are Lepelsky and Chashniksky districts.
