In Baran, Orsha district, an anesthesiology and resuscitation department was opened after reconstruction

В Барани Оршанского района после реконструкции открыли отделение анестезиологии и реанимации
The anesthesiology and intensive care unit has been opened after current repairs and reconstruction at the city hospital No. 2 in Baran, Orsha district.

The updated high-tech unit is designed for 6 beds of therapeutic profile, one of which is an infectious disease isolation room. The intensive care unit is equipped with five ventilators, syringe pumps, thermovents, and anti-bedsore mattresses. The unit includes 19 medical workers. 240 thousand rubles from the district budget were spent on the repair of the intensive care unit.

– The updated unit is a great gift for the residents of the Orsha region, especially Baran. Intensive care is a unit where people are admitted in extremely serious condition. Now there is no need to transport such patients to Orsha. All conditions have been created here for round-the-clock monitoring of patients' conditions, as the medical staff works here 24/7. Once again, we are convinced of the colossal attention paid by the state to healthcare, – noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky, head of the main department for healthcare of the regional executive committee, during the grand opening ceremony.

Sergey Vashchilov, head of the Orsha City Hospital No. 2, said that the decision to repair the unit was made by the district Council of Deputies. The work, started in November last year, was completed in two months.

– The area of the unit has been increased by 30%, – he stated. – We carried out a redevelopment by utilizing other premises. All communications have been completely replaced, tiles have been laid, and the ceilings and walls, as well as the entrance group, have been finished. A lounge and dining room for staff, and a utility room have been added. The wards have become much more spacious, and new furniture has appeared. The beds will be replaced soon. We are glad that our patients will be able to receive higher quality and prompt care, and the medical team will be able to work in better conditions with modern equipment.

The Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Igor Moroz, emphasized that significant investments in the hospital's infrastructure reflect the state's interest in providing the highest quality medical services.

– I often meet with people in work collectives, and many questions arise regarding healthcare, – said the head of the district. – This mainly concerns the quality of medical care and the availability of doctors. And today, we are doing everything to reduce such questions – we are creating conditions and attracting young specialists to the district. The renovated and state-of-the-art equipped department in Barani is another step towards the people.
