In Belarus, 2014 has been declared the Year of Hospitality
In order to develop tourism, create modern tourist infrastructure that takes into account the geographical location, natural, historical and cultural riches of Belarus, and foster patriotic pride and respect for the Fatherland among citizens, 2014 has been declared the Year of Hospitality in Belarus. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state Alexander Lukashenko on December 27.
The Government has been instructed to develop and approve, jointly with the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, a republican plan of measures for holding the Year of Hospitality and to ensure the coordination of activities of state bodies and other organizations for their implementation.
The declaration of the Year of Hospitality will contribute to concentrating the efforts of state bodies, organizations and citizens on the development and effective use of Belarus's tourism opportunities and on organizing a high-level reception for foreign guests who will arrive to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the events of the Ice Hockey World Championship.
