The procedure for taking driving tests has changed in Belarus
Changes have been made in Belarus to the Instructions on the procedure for taking qualification exams for the right to drive a motor vehicle (with the exception of wheeled tractors). This decision is contained in the resolution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs dated April 3, 2015, No. 93, published today on the National Legal Internet Portal, BELTA reports.
The resolution defines the procedure for taking exams: first, theoretical, then practical. A person who has passed the theoretical exam is allowed to take the practical exam within the next 6 months, after which the theoretical exam is assigned again. The practical exam on a training vehicle is taken in two stages: the first - at the driving range, the second - on a test route in real traffic conditions. Re-examinations are scheduled no earlier than six days from the day following the day of the last exam.
For those who failed the theoretical exam or one of the stages of the practical exam from the third attempt onwards, the re-examination is scheduled no earlier than 30 days later. In case of failure to present the examination card for theoretical and practical exams to the REP for obtaining a driver's license within three years, theoretical and practical exams are assigned again.
The theoretical exam, taken using test questions with automated systems, should not exceed fifteen minutes, and using paper-based test questions - no more than thirty minutes. The decision to accept the theoretical exam using paper-based test questions is made by the commission chairman in agreement with the examiners. A positive grade of "passed" is given if the examinee made no more than one incorrect answer. Those who, within the specified time, did not answer all the questions in the examination ticket are given a "failed" grade.
Furthermore, it is now permitted to use a radio electronic device for navigation (GPS navigator) when taking the practical exam. The decision to use it is made by the chairman of the commission in agreement with the examiners. Before the start of the exam, the examiner enters the test route into the GPS navigator.
Appeals can now only be filed once; a repeated appeal will not be considered and will be returned to the examinee.
The resolution comes into force after its official publication.
