A new program for the revival and development of the village needs to be adopted in Belarus – Vladimir Terentyev
The need to adopt a new program for the revival and development of rural areas has arisen in Belarus. This opinion was expressed today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, speaking at the V All-Belarusian People's Assembly.
According to Vladimir Terentyev, close attention should be paid to the situation in small settlements, and assistance and support should be provided to the people living there. "This is the zone of our responsibility, the Councils of Deputies," he noted. "We think that perhaps the need to adopt a new program for the revival and development of rural areas has arisen. We cannot allow these villages to disappear from the map of our country." "There are many ways to preserve them - this is the development of agroecotourism, farming, support from large agro-towns. This issue requires discussion not only by local authorities but also at the government level," the delegate is convinced. Vladimir Terentyev also expressed the opinion that in the current five-year period, it is necessary to implement a project to create the "Belarusian Flax" holding, where the Orsha Flax Mill will become the main locomotive after modernization.
"It should unite enterprises in the production chain from field to counter," noted the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies. He added that among the priorities for the region in the coming years are job creation and attracting investment, and maintaining positive development dynamics.
