In Belarus, maternity leave is planned to be extended by 14 calendar days

May 14, Minsk /BELTA/. In Belarus, it is planned to increase the prenatal leave by 14 calendar days and grant it from 28 weeks of pregnancy. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Petr Grushnik, today during an online conference "State Social Support for Families Raising Children" on the ministry's website, BELTA correspondent reports. "This is advisable, first of all, because a significant number of pregnant women in the later stages of pregnancy are usually issued a sick leave certificate due to various complications," explained the representative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. Currently, relevant amendments are being made to the Labor Code of the Republic of Belarus. Petr Grushnik expressed hope that this proposal will be supported at all levels. -0-
