Prices for liquefied gas are increasing in Belarus

June 29, Minsk /BELTA/. Prices for liquefied gas are increasing in Belarus, the Ministry of Economy informed a BELTA correspondent. Thus, from June 30, 2012, the producer prices for hydrocarbon gases liquefied for communal and household consumption will increase by 10%, and by 11% - the producer prices for hydrocarbon gases liquefied fuel for road transport and the maximum retail prices for liquefied gas sold at gas filling stations. This is stipulated by the resolutions of the Ministry of Economy No. 51 and No. 52 of June 13, 2012. "Currently, the existing producer prices for liquefied gases do not ensure profitable operation of the manufacturing companies that produce them for communal and household consumption and for road transport. The increase in retail prices for petroleum products this year has changed the ratio between retail prices for motor gasoline and liquefied gases used for refueling vehicles," the Ministry of Economy noted. Thus, the decision to increase gas prices was made to ensure an increase in the efficiency of the financial and economic activities of oil refining organizations when selling liquefied gases on the domestic market, and to eliminate the existing disparity in prices for petroleum products for refueling vehicles, the ministry explained. Also, from July 1, 2012, the price of liquefied gas used for refueling gas cylinders will increase by 5.5%. At the same time, the producer price for 1 kg of liquefied gas sold to the population for refueling gas cylinders with a volume of 1 liter, 5 liters, 12 liters, and 27 liters is set at Br2,290. The decision was made by the Ministry of Economy, taking into account the unprofitability of selling liquefied gases on the domestic market from purchased raw materials, as well as to ensure an increase in the efficiency of gas supply organizations, and is fixed in the ministry's resolution No. 56 of June 20, 2012. -0-
