In Belarus, opportunities for attracting investment in unprofitable state-owned enterprises have been expanded

August 10, Minsk / Lilia Krapivina - BELTA /. In Belarus, opportunities for attracting investments in unprofitable state organizations have been expanded. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the State Property Committee, commenting on Decree No. 410 of August 4, 2009, which amends Decree No. 113 of February 25, 2008 "On the procedure and conditions for selling enterprises as property complexes of unprofitable state organizations to legal entities." The new document excludes the criterion of "stable insolvency." As a result, the number of organizations to which the decree applies will increase, and its scope will be expanded. In addition, the decree provides for the replacement of the state comprehensive expertise of an investment project with coordination with republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies. Unprofitable state organizations are subordinate to (part of) these bodies, and they (government bodies) are the initiators of the sale of these enterprises. The amendment made to the decree will contribute to more prompt measures for the sale of property complexes of unprofitable state organizations to legal entities, the State Property Committee noted. In general, the implementation of Decree No. 410 will expand the scope of Decree No. 113, reduce the number of unprofitable state organizations in the republic, attract investments to unprofitable state organizations, and ensure additional revenue to the republican and local budgets. -0-
