The best libraries have been chosen in Belarus, one of them is in Sharkovshchina
– This high award is the result of the painstaking work of the entire team, and primarily the employees of the library marketing department, who for over a year have been researching the creative heritage of the outstanding artist, ethnographer, folklorist Jazep Drozdovich, – says Elena Fromertas, Director of the Sharkaushchyna Centralized Library System. – The work on creating the unique bibliographic guide "Vandrounik. Douhae vyartanne" began as part of the celebration of the 130th anniversary of his birth and was completed only at the beginning of this year.
The guide includes three sections reflecting the literary heritage of Jazep Narcizavich, the significance of literature in his life and creative activities. It also contains information about the museum named in honor of the fellow countryman, art exhibitions, and plein airs dedicated to his memory. The collection features the artist's paintings, many of which have never been published before.
– We have collected over 480 bibliographic records in one publication, the earliest of which dates back to 1908, – continues Elena Timofeevna. – We included information on all available books and brochures about Drozdovich, and even remembered postcards. All of them, in one way or another, reveal the theme of the artist's work and his worldview. From now on, it will be much easier for those studying the works of Jazep Narcizavich to find the necessary material.
Introductory articles for the bibliographic guide were written by Viktor Kruk, a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists and a teacher at the Sharkaushchyna Children's Art School, and Klimentiy Kozhan, a well-known local historian who has been researching Drozdovich's work for many years, studying archival documents and the memories of local old-timers.
In addition, an informational collection "Here is your beginning and here is your continuation" was presented at the republican competition, detailing the life of Jazep Drozdovich in the Sharkovshchyna land. The printed publication is supplemented with a schematic map of the recently developed tourist route "Drozdovich's Paths", a story about the Y. Drozdovich Germanovichi Art and Ethnographic Museum, and a cultural and educational center, which also bears the name of the wandering artist.
The award for first place in the republican competition included a monetary reward of 50 base units, which the Sharkovshchyna residents spent on modern office equipment, furniture, and a mobile shelving unit for thematic exhibitions.
