18 schools in the Vitebsk region are participating in the Belarusian-Russian research project "Management of Education"

August 19, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. Eighteen schools and gymnasiums in the Vitebsk region are participating in the interregional Belarusian-Russian research project "Management of Upbringing," as reported to BELTA correspondent by Larisa Zenkova, Vice-Rector for Organizational and Methodological Work at the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education. The research project involves the development of scientific and methodological concepts and practical recommendations for the effective management of the upbringing process for children in educational institutions. The relevance of the topic is linked to the fact that in the context of innovative development of modern schools and the need to adapt the upbringing process to current conditions, the role of managerial competencies of educators is significantly increasing. "We live in a new socio-economic and political situation, so upbringing should be conducted in a new way, taking into account today's realities; this process should be more purposeful, personality-oriented, and individually oriented," noted Larisa Zenkova. At the same time, the education system needs scientific and methodological support for managing the upbringing process; however, the management of the upbringing process as an area of knowledge and transformation of upbringing practices is still under development and formation. The main goal of the research is to form an understanding of "management of the upbringing process" as effective management of the educational activities of an educational institution and to test the possibilities of management in the practice of upbringing the younger generation. In addition to Vitebsk schools and the regional institute for the development of education, educational institutions from 12 regions of Russia are participating in the project. All of them serve as the main base for experimental work on developing approaches, forms, and methods for effective management of the upbringing process for children. In fact, it is about forming a modern culture of managerial activity in educational institutions, which, through the system of professional development for education workers, should be implemented in pedagogical teams. The project is designed for five years and is expected to result in the development of a special course program "Management of Upbringing" for heads and educators of educational institutions, as well as the publication of an educational and methodological guide "Management of Upbringing, or How to Effectively Manage the Upbringing Process." The predicted results of the research activities, according to Larisa Zenkova, will contribute to the renewal and increased effectiveness of the practice of upbringing children in educational institutions. -0-
