A research center has opened in Beshenkovichi, which will be engaged in the development of anti-cancer drugs

В Бешенковичах открылся научно-исследовательский центр, который будет заниматься разработками лекарств против рака
Yesterday, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, visited the Vitebsk region. The main purpose of his working trip was to familiarize himself with the progress of the implementation of a unique innovative pharmaceutical project for Belarus in Beshenkovichi with the participation of an international quartet of investors who established a joint limited liability company "Nativita".

General construction work has been completed at the production site, and the installation of original equipment is in full swing in order to launch the plant for the production of drugs for the treatment of malignant tumors and a number of severe infectious diseases by the end of the year.

According to Alexey Sychev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Nativita", it is planned to start production activities with liquid dosage forms, so-called monoclonal antibodies, the use of which in the treatment of oncological diseases makes it possible to reduce side effects during chemotherapy.

As early as 2017, it is planned to master the production of up to 7 drugs in a full cycle, and from the second half of the year, to expand the production program by including medicinal products in tablets and capsules.

The uniqueness of the project is evidenced not only by the level of science intensity of the products but also by the creation of a research center (so-called R&D center) on the basis of the company. Its task in the near future is the research and creation of new technologies. On the eve of the launch of the main production lines, the solemn opening of the center took place, where the most advanced developments in the field of anti-cancer drugs are planned to be concentrated.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Pankaj Saxena, Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Slovakia to Belarus Jozef Migaš, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Oleg Matskevich, and other officials took part in the ceremony.

Another distinctive feature of pharmaceutical production in Beshenkovichi is the choice of an original financing strategy, which provides for the inflow of funds from the sale of new products under the "Nativity" trademark, in parallel with foreign direct investment (mainly from Lithuania). Their packaging and bottling are mainly carried out at the Belarusian enterprise "Academpharm".

As a result, about 40% of the total financing comes from this investment source. This scheme creates an additional opportunity to work out the marketing and sales system for the drugs and, after the launch of its own production, to have a ready product portfolio and customer base, which is very important for a successful start, emphasized Alexey Sychev.

In addition, Mikhail Myasnikovich visited the production site of the Vitebsk Fur Combine.
