The regional "Dazhynki" festival was held in Braslav
The Vitebsk region has approached the festival-fair of the villagers with solid results. The region has fulfilled the state order in the volume of 115 thousand tons of grain.
And the total weight of the region's loaf was 980 thousand tons. This is a third more than a year ago. The average yield has also increased: from 25 centners per hectare in 2018 to 29.8 centners this year. The best yield was noted in the agricultural enterprise "Larinovka" (Orshansky district) - 83.2 centners per hectare.
The leader in gross harvest was the Orshansky district - 118 thousand tons. Vitebsk threshed 100 thousand tons. More than half of the harvest was collected by integration structures: Glubokskaya, Polotskaya, Vitebskaya, and Orshanskaya. The latter accounted for 138 thousand tons. All the best districts, farms, and grain growers received prizes and gifts. Including cash bonuses, VAZ cars, and MTZ tractors.
1.24 thousand grain harvesting crews worked on the harvest, including 67 youth crews and 36 family crews. 319 combine crews exceeded the thousand-ton threshing, 24 crews reached the 2 thousand mark, and 8 crews overcame the three-thousand-ton threshing. In addition, for the first time in the history of the Vitebsk region, there were 5 crews that threshed four thousand tons.
According to Nikolai Sherstnev, the region has set a course for intensive agriculture. The formation of a full harvest is laid down in compliance with crop rotation. The focus is on expanding the sown areas of leguminous and oilseed crops. "It is extremely important for us to provide the livestock industry with its own cheap protein in full, and this is the key to increasing productivity and reducing the costs of final products: milk and meat," the governor noted.
The Chairman of the regional executive committee added that the key to the success of crop cultivation and crop production in the Vitebsk region depends on three main components: weather, competent cohesive work of personnel, the necessary equipment, and the efficiency of its use. "To fulfill all in
optimal timelines while observing crop cultivation technologies and achieving the best performance indicators in the country. It is crucial to re-equip the agro-industrial complex (AIC) in the shortest possible time, focusing on increasing productivity. This will allow for all agricultural work to be carried out twice as fast and with higher quality, and ultimately to eliminate the layering of tasks, which is characteristic only of the northern region," said Nikolai Sherstnev. The head of the region emphasized the importance of making the agricultural sector prestigious. "A significant step in this direction has been taken: since last year, the region has implemented an approach to change the remuneration scheme for specialists in the livestock industry, as well as for machine operators. The salaries for other categories of rural workers will also be revised in stages," assured the governor. "In vocational and higher education institutions, the duration of practical training, which students undergo in advanced farms of the region, has been increased. And it is important for the organizations themselves, as employers, to directly participate in forming a team of true professionals for their enterprises. All this allows us to connect the components of a large mechanism to change thinking and create an effective AIC development scheme."
Braslav has also been transformed for "Dozhynki". According to Alexander Bodanin, Chairman of the Braslav District Executive Committee, over 100 facilities were renovated in the city for the rural workers' holiday:
- This includes a kindergarten and a school. The Central District Hospital is undergoing renovation. 16 housing facilities have been repaired, and roads have been asphalted. One of the landmark facilities is the embankment, where an air show and a water spectacle take place during "Dozhynki". It is a recognizable and popular place. As a result, the city has become cozy and attractive for both local residents and tourists. A total of 20 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for the preparation for "Dozhynki".

The congratulations from the Head of State to the participants of the regional "Dozhinki" festival were conveyed by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Vladimir Andreichenko. And the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, thanked all the region's grain growers and partners who helped with the harvest:

- We will do everything to ensure that the Vitebsk region's harvest becomes bigger every yearsome.
Next year, the baton of the regional "Dozhinki" will be taken over by Vitebsk and Vitebsk district.
