On April 10, a working meeting of the heads of the border agencies of Belarus and Latvia was held in Braslav.
At the meeting, interdepartmental normative acts were signed – the Protocol "On Cooperation between the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia" and the Protocol "On Interaction in the Field of Information Exchange on the Situation at the Belarusian-Latvian Section of the Border and Threats to Border Security".
The Protocols are a continuation of the development of the legal framework for cooperation, which is based on the intergovernmental Treaty on the regime of the Belarusian-Latvian state border signed exactly one year ago.
The signed documents define the directions, forms of cooperation, as well as the list of information on which mutual information exchange will be carried out.
Also, during the meeting, the current situation and issues of functioning of border crossing points on the Belarusian-Latvian border were discussed.
