In the Braslav district, the country's first two-thousandth combine harvester operator was honored

В Браславском районе чествовали первого в стране комбайнера-двухтысячника
The first combine harvester to reach two thousand tons in the Braslav district was honored yesterday.

The harvest leader works in the fields of OJSC "Berezovy Krai" of the Braslav district, which is part of the Glubokoye integration structure. Combine harvester Sergey Zelenkevich was the first in the country to thresh 2 thousand tons of grain. The farmer was congratulated on this achievement by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, the head of the Braslav district Alexander Bodanin, and the General Director of OJSC "Glubokoye Feed Mill" Oleg Skrabnevsky. They presented the leader with a certificate, gifts, and a monetary bonus.

Sergey Zelenkevich has been working in agriculture for 10 years and works at the Glubokoye Feed Mill. Currently, he is seconded to the Braslav district for the harvest period. "In childhood, I worked with my uncle, I was an assistant on a 'Palesse' combine. Agriculture interested me, later I worked independently on a 'Palesse', now they have given me imported equipment. The main thing is good weather," said Sergey Zelenkevich.

The western regions of the Vitebsk region were most affected by the heat, but the shortfall is planned to be compensated by the central and eastern regions. The harvest is expected to be much higher than last year's level. "This is a historic moment that a two-thousand-ton harvester appeared in the Vitebsk region, not in warmer regions, and was the first in the country. If the weather allows us to harvest everything that has grown, then it is possible that we will have a record gross harvest. But the main thing here is technology. When it is followed, you will get the maximum harvest regardless of the weather," noted the head of the region, Nikolai Sherstnev. He wished the leader not to slow down and to remain at the forefront of the harvesting campaign.

The head of OJSC "Berezovy Krai" Andrey Matsuk said that nine combine harvesters are currently working in the fields of the enterprise, and three more will join soon. About 30% of the areas have been harvested. "The yield is 39 centners per hectare, due to drought (only 7% fell

(of precipitation from the norm) is a good result. The technologies worked well, top dressing and chemical treatment were carried out in a timely manner," the director added.

In total, in the Vitebsk region, grain and legume crops are to be harvested on an area of 354 thousand hectares. More than 5% of the area has been harvested so far.
