In Chashniki, a villager decided to commit murder for a bag of powdered milk

В Чашниках сельчанин решился на убийство за мешок сухого молока

A resident of the Chashniki district may face up to ten years in prison for demanding a 25-kilogram bag of powdered milk, brought to the farm to feed calves, from a livestock breeder under threat of a knife.

The 56-year-old man was driven to commit the crime by his craving for alcohol. Although he claims that he wanted the bag of milk not for sale or exchange for alcohol, but solely for preparing his own lunch.

At this livestock facility in KUSKhP "Kashchinskoye," the officially unemployed citizen occasionally worked on a contract basis. He knew that powdered milk was stored in the milk room. That day, he had no money for drinks, but he wanted to get rid of his hangover.

First, he simply demanded the desired item from a young farm worker. She refused. Then the visitor pulled out a homemade knife, resembling a shiv, and began to threaten to kill her. The cattle breeder did not give in. The man put the cold weapon to her chest and repeated his demand. At this point, the woman realized that the drunken jokes were over - she was in real danger. She began to call for help and tried to break free. A locksmith ran to her cries, knocked the "starving" man down, and took away the knife.

The police were called, and the village woman filed a statement demanding that the offender be held accountable. He is currently in pre-trial detention.

Natalia Maltseva, Deputy Prosecutor of the Chashniki District, says:

- Initially, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of threat of murder, but then the accused's actions were reclassified. Since he demanded the transfer of material valuables (a bag of powdered milk costs 678 thousand rubles) using a knife, the crime automatically falls under the article on robbery. And the responsibility there is much more serious - up to 10 years of imprisonment. The case has already been sent to court.
