A new X-ray diagnostic complex has been installed at Chashniki Hospital

The installation of equipment for a digital X-ray diagnostic complex has been completed at the Chashniki Hospital, as reported by Valery Krasovsky, Deputy Chief Physician of the Novolukoml Central District Hospital.

The need for this complex has been long overdue. "X-ray examination is key in diagnosing many diseases," said Valery Krasovsky. "Fractures, pneumonia, tumors – it's impossible to make a final diagnosis without specialized equipment."

The new X-ray diagnostic complex will allow for saving the obtained images in digital format. Radiologists will immediately add examination results to the local computer network, which is accessible to all hospital doctors. In the future, digital images will be stored on a hard drive. This will facilitate the work of specialists, allow patients to keep their examination results, and print any image on paper when needed.

The equipment from a domestic medical technology manufacturer was purchased using funds from the republican budget. The total amount was about Br380 thousand. The apparatus is made of modern materials with a high degree of protection, which significantly reduces radiation exposure to humans. "The new equipment is considered practically safe for both patients and medical staff, as well as the personnel serving the X-ray diagnostics room," emphasized Natalia Glazko, head of the Chashniki Hospital.

This is the second digital X-ray machine at the Chashniki Hospital; a digital fluorograph was installed there several years ago. "With its help, images can be saved on an electronic medium and printed on ordinary paper," said Natalia Glazko. "On paper, some images turn out clearer than on X-ray film."

This year, about Br500 thousand has been allocated for strengthening the material and technical base of healthcare facilities in the Chashniki district. In addition to the new X-ray diagnostic complex, an anesthesia machine and a ventilator were purchased at the beginning of the year using funds from the republican budget. To combat COVID-19, oxygen outlets were equipped in the therapeutic department, through which oxygen is supplied to the wards for the ventilator. If necessary, about 20 patients can be connected to it.

"By the end of the year, we plan to equip an oxygen supply unit in the wards of the infectious diseases department," said Valery Krasovsky. "The location has already been determined, and a platform is currently being installed next to the infectious diseases department building, which stands separately from the main hospital building. After connecting this outlet to the ventilator system, 8 patients can be connected."
