The second phase of a pig-breeding complex for 16,000 heads has been opened in the Chashniki district

В Чашникском районе открыта вторая очередь свиноводческого комплекса на 16 тыс. голов
The opening of the second phase of the pig-breeding complex in the village of Shelkovshchina, a branch of "Zarya" of CJSC "Vitebskagropromproduct", will double the pig population at the production site and is the final stage of a large-scale investment project in the Chashniki district.

The pig-growing production site has been operating on the premises of the reconstructed livestock complex for a year. The unit has been gaining strength all this time, and now the nursery workshop has been put into operation. Now the production cycle can be considered complete. Three premises, designed for 8,000 heads, have begun to be filled with piglets. They will be brought to the desired condition until they reach 40 kg, and then sent for fattening.

European pig farmers' experience was taken into account during the construction of the complex. High-tech imported equipment has been installed here, allowing for significant weight gains. It is important that human intervention in the process is minimal: compound feed will be supplied through pipes to special feeders, and animals will be able to approach them and feed at any time. The modern manure removal system plays a big role, minimizing harmful environmental consequences. The optimal temperature will be maintained in the premises, necessary sanitary and hygienic measures will be carried out, and the strictest control regime will be observed.

The total number of pigs at the site in Shelkovshchina will soon reach 16,000. Already in 2019, this facility can yield good results: its production capacity is up to 5,000 tons of meat products per year.

The achieved mutual understanding between the local authorities and the management of the "Slavyansky Veles" holding, which includes the Chashniki complex, has made it possible to solve serious problems. As emphasized by the chairman of the district executive committee Leonid Pleshko, such rapid development of the enterprise is also beneficial for the Chashniki region: about forty jobs have been created, budget revenues have increased, and, moreover, stable operation allows retaining the rural population in their places. Of course, the businessmen will not be left out either.

The chairman of the district executive committee presented letters of appreciation to the workers who distinguished themselves in the construction of the facility.
