In honor of its quarter-century anniversary, a museum of teaching was opened at Gymnasium No. 2 in Vitebsk

В честь четвертьвекового юбилея в гимназии №2 Витебска открыли музей учительства

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the gymnasium opened a museum of teaching. The stands feature the names of educators who, for their fruitful work, have been awarded the high title of "Excellent Educator of the Republic of Belarus" in various years. Over the years of the educational institution's existence, 17 educators have received this title. Notably, 12 of them are still actively working for the benefit of the homeland.

The museum of teaching also includes the names of those who have dedicated many years of their lives to serving their native school, made a significant contribution to its development, and have been awarded certificates of honor by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. The stands also highlight educators who carry out their teaching activities within methodological associations, each with its own focus and methods of work. Currently, the gymnasium has methodological associations for primary school teachers, foreign language teachers, literature teachers, natural science teachers, mathematics and computer science teachers, socio-cultural orientation, and a methodological association for class advisors.

It is evident that a large amount of material has been collected, making it impossible to fit it all on the stands. Therefore, a multimedia museum application exists, which contains engaging television programs about the gymnasium, videos of open lessons and educational events, information about educators and their methodological developments, photos of gymnasium educators from different years, and much more.

Humanities Gymnasium No. 2 was established in 1996 on the basis of Secondary School No. 9, one of the oldest educational institutions in the Vitebsk region.

Throughout its development, the gymnasium has evolved from a purely linguistic educational institution into a "maximum realization" gymnasium – a multidisciplinary educational institution known for its diverse activities in the region.

For example, since 2009, active cooperation with higher educational institutions of Belarus has begun: VSU named after P. Masherov, the Medical and Technological Universities, BSU and BSUIR. Since 2012, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Dialogue of Languages and Cultures in the 21st Century" has been held on a permanent basis, which has become a brand of foreign language education in the Vitebsk region. For more than five years, the gymnasium has held leading positions in Belarus in the framework of Olympiad movement.
