A creative evening of the People's Artist of the USSR, Vasily Lanovoy, is scheduled to take place in Vitebsk in December.
The name of this Soviet theater and film actor is known not only to the older generation but also to the youth.
Vasily Semenovich was not a hereditary artist; his parents were Ukrainian peasants who had moved to Moscow. But he became one of those idols that thousands of girls in the Soviet Union sighed over. He brilliantly performed a variety of roles: Pavel Korchagin in the film of the same name, Arthur Gray in "Scarlet Sails," Anatole Kuragin in "War and Peace," and many others. And for his role as Ivan Varravva in the film "Officers," Lanovoy was named Best Actor of the Year in 1971. Even when appearing in episodes, he did not go unnoticed: everyone remembers him relaxing on the beach in the film "Striped Trip." How did Vasily Semenovich manage to be so convincing, how did he win the hearts of the audience? Residents of Pridvinye will have the opportunity to learn some answers firsthand by visiting the Vitebsk Concert Hall on December 6, where a creative evening of People's Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoy will be held.
