Natural gas has been supplied to the village of Skog in the Sennensky district

В деревню Ског Сенненского района проведён природный газ
Another settlement has appeared on the gasification map of the Vitebsk region. Blue fuel has arrived in the village of Skog, Senno district.

Local residents do not recall such a number of guests. Chairman of the regional executive committee Nikolai Sherstnev, Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk region Anatoly Linevich, Minister of Energy Viktor Karankevich, General Director of the State Production Association "Beltopgaz" Alexey Kushnarenko, representatives of local authorities, and other officials came to share their joy with them regarding the improvement of living conditions associated with the arrival of natural gas to their homes.

– This event, for which we have all gathered, shows that residents of small settlements also have the right to a decent life. We are doing a lot in this regard. Two years ago, despite financial difficulties, we decided to pay attention to Bogushevsk. Today, the result is visible – roads have been asphalted, a park and a public garden have been landscaped, and the school has been put in order. And the work will continue. There are plans to build a pellet production plant. The settlement will live and develop. The village, located a few kilometers from Bogushevsk, also has a future. With gas, people will build houses here with great pleasure. The places are beautiful – forest, lake. Everything is there for a wonderful life, – noted Nikolai Sherstnev, who, along with other distinguished guests, lit the symbolic torch.

The prospects for the development of the settlement were presented by the Chairman of the Senno District Executive Committee Igor Moroz. In particular, this year Skog will begin the construction of an iron removal station, next year – a major overhaul of an apartment building will start, and landscaping work is planned.

As of today, with a gas network length of 230 km, Sennensky District holds one of the leading positions in the region. Natural gas has been supplied to 19 rural settlements and 9 out of 15 agro-towns. The total length of the commissioned new section of the gas pipeline is 1.9 km. 27 apartments in an apartment building, previously supplied with liquefied gas from a tank installation, and 23 individual houses (consumer cooperative) have been converted to natural gas. In the future, it is planned to connect about 80 private households and a dairy farm to the gas pipeline.

The most distinguished employees, thanks to whom natural gas has reached the settlement, have been awarded by the regional executive committee, the Ministry of Energy, and the state production association "BelTопгаз".

As noted by Viktor Karankevich, natural gas remains the most widely used energy source in the Republic of Belarus. Its advantages compared to other types of fuel are obvious – environmental friendliness, high calorific value, and cleanliness in homes.

Last year, over 42 km of supply gas pipelines were built in the Vitebsk region, bringing natural gas to agro-towns and rural settlements in Beshenkovichsky, Verkhnedvinsky, Gorodoksky, Polotsky, Vitebsky, Lepelsky, Sennensky, Tolochinsky, and Sharkovshchinsky districts. This indicates the creation of conditions for the further development of rural areas, as natural gas remains the most convenient and inexpensive energy source to use today.

The availability of natural gas for residents of rural settlements is addressed by the Decree of the President of June 2, 2006, No. 368, according to which state support is provided for the construction of street gas distribution networks for consumer gasification cooperatives, amounting to up to 70% of the cost of work. Citizens can also take advantage of preferential loans issued by "Belarusbank" for a period of up to 2 years at 3% per annum.

Over the past decades, special attention has been paid to the development of rural areas in the republic. Until 2010, the program for the revival and development of the village was in effect, followed by the sustainable development of rural areas, and currently, the State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment."

The development of regions is linked to the advent of natural gas: the creation of new industries and new jobs; prospects for the creation and development of infrastructure to provide labor resources; the attractiveness of the corresponding territory increases.
