The canteen of the central district hospital was opened in Dokshytsy after reconstruction

In Dokshytsy, the canteen of the central district hospital was solemnly opened yesterday after reconstruction. The ceremony was attended by the head of the main department for healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Yuri Derkach, district leadership, hospital staff, and local residents. Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, also came to Dokshytsy to congratulate the medical workers, patients, and the entire population of the region on this significant event.

The Dokshytsy Central District Hospital is designed for 94 beds. Since nutrition is an important component of the recovery process, it was decided at the time to renovate the canteen, which had not been repaired since the late 1980s. According to the chief physician of the Dokshytsy Central District Hospital, Sergey Kubor, the work was carried out from the middle of this summer:

— 700 thousand rubles were allocated from the budget. To spend them on time, the builders worked in two shifts. Only the shell of the old building remained. Everything inside was repaired, communications and windows were replaced. New induction cookers and a steam oven were installed in the kitchen. Refrigeration equipment and a lift for retrieving products from the warehouse have been updated. All this will help make the dietary nutrition of patients more diverse.

Vladimir Andreichenko noted that the facility was opened on the eve of November 7:

— People have different views on the Soviet period of history. But it was in those years that a good tradition emerged – to open socially significant facilities on festive dates. In Belarus, the Head of State, the Government, and the legislative body of power pay great attention to healthcare issues. A clear legislative system has been established in this area. Not a single session of the House of Representatives passes without these issues being considered. Recently, for example, we adopted laws on providing psychiatric care and on medicinal products. The budget for 2020 is currently being considered, which provides for an increase in healthcare development allocations by 14.7%.

It should be noted that in the work to improve the healthcare system, attention is paid not only to the capital, regional centers, but also to the regions. Over the past 5 years, for the modernization of the therapeutic department of the Dokshytsy Central District Hospital, repairits polyclinics, the food block, almost 4 million 250 thousand rubles were spent on the construction and equipping of the dental department. Dentistry in Dokshitsy today, by the way, is one of the best not only in the Vitebsk region, but also, perhaps, in the country. It is no coincidence that in 9 months of this year, in addition to local residents, it received 200 patients from the capital and Myadel district.
