Alexander Bodanin's career is connected with Braslav region – from 2001 to 2006, with a short break, he held various positions at the DSU-34 branch of RUP "Vitebskavtodor". The graduate of the Belarusian Polytechnic Academy already had experience working in a road repair and construction organization in Miory when he was offered to head a section of the newly created DSU-34, and then a linear road department, which was to be based in Miory.
– We immediately handed over 100 km of roads. But for their maintenance, there was neither a team nor a material base. Alexander Iosifovich had to create all this from scratch. And he coped, demonstrating good organizational skills, the ability to mobilize people to implement the tasks set, – said Vladimir Aniskov, Head of the DSU-34 branch. – Alexander Bodanin also headed the motor transport enterprise No. 15 and was the Deputy Chairman of the Miory District Executive Committee. In this position, he had to be responsible for a wide range of economic issues and gain experience in solving other significant problems.
When approving the appointment of new district leaders, including Alexander Bodanin, the head of state inquired in detail about their previous work experience, the situation on the ground, and the development of certain sectors of the national economy. "I see that these specialists are not random and capable people. I would very much like to have more of this new generation of people," said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The tasks that the head of the district will have to solve were specified in the farewell speech by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. It is always difficult to start, he noted. It takes time, and the new leader does not have it. The Vitebsk region is losing labor resources. This process must be stopped, care must be taken to ensure that living conditions meet the requirements of young people, that there are kindergartens, schools, hospitals, sports halls, a swimming pool, and places for leisure activities.
How to do this? The district is almost 50% subsidized. We need to learn to earn money ourselves, not become hangers-on of the state, because many want to live well without working. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee drew the attention of those present to the fact that there are few entrepreneurs in Braslav region, and small and medium-sized businesses are developing poorly. This suggests that people are working without registering as individual entrepreneurs and evading taxes.
Next year, Nikolai Sherstnev reminded, Braslav will host the regional "Dazhynki". Preparation for this holiday gives cities the opportunity to improve infrastructure, become cleaner and more beautiful. Huge work in this direction awaits Braslav as well. A serious foundation must be laid for the city to truly become a tourist center of the country, have parking lots, hotels, cafes and restaurants, and an entertainment industry.
And with all this, it is necessary to develop industry, agriculture, the social sphere, and entrepreneurship so that people have jobs, a stable income, and see prospects for improving their well-being.
Alexander Bodanin promised those present that he would fully use his knowledge and experience to fulfill the tasks set for the district.
