The stadium was opened in Dubrovno after reconstruction

The stadium in Dubrovno at Secondary School No. 1 has been solemnly opened after the completion of the first phase of major repairs with modernization elements. The facility, which can now rightfully be called a sports and game complex, was built according to a project by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

– The President of our country, Alexander Lukashenko, and the leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee pay great attention to the education system, – noted Vladimir Penin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. – We perfectly understand that this is our future. In particular, much has been done recently for the education sector of the Dubrovno region. This also applies to Secondary School No. 1, where major repairs with modernization elements were carried out. Today, the educational institution organizes the learning and upbringing process at a qualitatively new, modern level. As for the renovated stadium, it has become a gift not only for schoolchildren but also for the residents of the microdistrict, who will come here to engage in physical activities with their families.

The facility includes a football field, running tracks with a special coating, a sports ground with artificial turf for team games, outdoor sports equipment under a canopy, a workout area, and a children's playground. The second phase includes another workout area, an obstacle course, and spectator stands, for which the territory has already been allocated.

Congratulating the residents of Dubrovno on this significant event, Anatoly Lukashev, Chairman of the District Executive Committee, emphasized that the major transformations have allowed Secondary School No. 1 to become a socio-cultural educational center in the city.

– It represents the integration of a general education school and additional education, has an extensive network of extracurricular activities within the additional education system, as well as the material base that allows all of this to be used, – noted the head of the district.

Anatoly Lukashov expressed his conviction that the commissioning of another sports facility will give new impetus to the development of sports in the district center.

Information from "VV": This year, Secondary School No. 1 in Dubrovno opened its doors to 751 students, 19% of whom are children from closed or reorganized schools in the region. Thanks to the implementation of the project "Modernization of the Education System of the Republic of Belarus," Secondary School No. 1 today is a place with cozy and well-lit classrooms, spacious foyers with frameless furniture for spinal decompression. Coolers are installed on each floor to ensure drinking water availability. Ordinary corridor walls have been transformed into bright information stands, and recreation areas into places for rest. Two modern computer classes, equipped with all-in-one computers with language lab functions and interactive whiteboards, have become centers for fostering information culture. Currently, 12 classrooms are equipped with widescreen TVs with internet access, three with interactive whiteboards, six with multi-boards, and three with short-throw projectors that allow students to interact with the image.

The school principal, Inna Martynenko, said that the educational institution, together with the Dubrovno Children and Youth Sports School, has experience in training world-class athletes who have brought fame to the district and the country on the international sports arena.

– And today, our students are prize-winners and winners of various regional and republican competitions, – added the principal. – I am confident that the modern sports facilities will allow our girls and boys to reach new heights, and even more of the local population to engage in sports and a healthy lifestyle.

The emotions regarding the renovated stadium were shared by the champion of the Republic of Belarus in athletics (2004–2006), eleventh-grader Maxim Krasnous.

– 10 years ago, we could only dream of such conditions for sports, – said Maxim. – Now we have everything necessary for full-fledged training – just train and enjoy!

He was supported by judoka, a student of SDYUSSHOR coach Gennady Kuskov, Konstantin Dementyev.

– This is so cool! We have already mastered the workout area and the gym equipment, – the sixth-grader could not contain his joy. – We play football, run cross-country during training sessions. I think now there will be more people in Dubrovno who want to get involved in sports. Such a bright and functional area will attract both children and adults.
