In Yezeryshcha, after major repairs at the secondary school, students can study traffic rules and engage in workout activities

In Yezershcha, Horadok District, a secondary school has opened after major repairs.

Just a few years ago, the educational institution was not in the best condition. A turning point in its fate was the program for the improvement of settlements in the Vitebsk region, developed by order of the head of state and designed for five years. Yezershcha was among the first. The large-scale reconstruction lasted throughout the past year and affected literally every square meter of the settlement. The local school has also changed beyond recognition.

— The building underwent thermal renovation, the canteen and common areas were finished, windows and doors were replaced with plastic ones, and the roof was repaired. Classrooms, the dining hall, and the territory have been put in order. A video surveillance system, an autonomous fire alarm, and fencing have been installed. A comprehensive multifunctional playground with artificial turf, workout equipment, and rubber crumb running tracks have appeared. A playground for studying traffic rules has been equipped. Over two years, more than 660 thousand rubles have been invested, — said Alexey Gamzyuk, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the District Executive Committee. — A kindergarten has also been renovated in Yezershcha. The roof and windows have been modernized, and the facade has been painted. Inside, radiators have been covered, group rooms have been updated, and furniture has been purchased.

The opening ceremony of the Yezershcha Secondary School was attended by Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, and representatives of the district authorities.

— Through the joint efforts of the district and regional authorities, we have managed to implement our plans. It turned out very well, — said Vladimir Vladimirovich. — There are conditions for a high-quality and comfortable life in the urban-type settlement. Therefore, I hope that the number of children in the school will grow every year, and young people will not leave their hometowns.

In preparation for the new academic year, about 1.1 million rubles were allocated in the Horadok District. Kindergarten No. 2 has been renovated in the district center. Design and estimate documentation for the major overhaul of Secondary School No. 2, which will be carried out next year, has been ordered. This week, a comprehensive multifunctional playground with artificial turf will open at Secondary School No. 1.
