The Main Statistical Department for the Vitebsk Region reported what became more expensive and what became cheaper in June compared to May 2014

The consumer price index for goods in the Vitebsk region in June 2014 compared to May of the current year was 100.8 percent, and compared to December 2013 - 107.6 percent, the Main Statistical Department of the region reported. Food products increased in price by 1.3 percent in June compared to May, and non-food products by 0.1 percent, the cost of services increased by 1.4 percent, and compared to December 2013 - by 11.5, 2.2, and 15.8 percent, respectively.

In terms of major groups of food products in June compared to May, prices increased for meat and poultry (4.7 percent), sausages and smoked products (2.8), wheat flour (1.7), vegetable oil and pasta (0.6), milk and dairy products (0.2), alcoholic beverages (0.4), potatoes (65.9 percent). However, prices for cheese, butter, sugar, fruits, and vegetables, according to regional statistics, were slightly lower in June than in May.

It should be noted that among non-food goods, shoes and furniture became cheaper, and among all services, we could pay less for cultural services, specifically those provided by concert organizations. The June price index compared to May was 51.1 percent here.
