A children's art school named after Jazep Drozdoch was opened in Hlybokaye
The Yuzef Drozdoch Children's Art School has opened in Glubokoye after a major renovation. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko, and the Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, Oleg Morkhat.
Recalling the glorious history of the city and district, the people of Glubokoye proudly name their famous fellow countrymen, including the artist, folklorist, and ethnographer Yuzef Drozdoch, the writer and screenwriter Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz, and the founder of the first professional Belarusian theater, Ignat Buinitsky. Many creative people today also bring glory to their small homeland through their works. The task of the art school teachers is to instill a love for beauty from an early age, to teach children to see the beauty of the surrounding world and to skillfully express their feelings and emotions on canvas.
The school has 90 boys and girls aged 6 to 15. They receive a classical art education. In addition to the main lessons, there are electives in batik and plasticine art. The small, cozy building, renovated inside and out, is the best gift for the young masters of Glubokoye.
Acknowledging the conscientious and high-quality work of the builders, Oleg Morkhat expressed his gratitude to the regional executive committee and its chairman, Alexander Ksinets, for their assistance in the reconstruction and modernization of social facilities. He also thanked Vladimir Andreichenko, who, as a deputy, regularly holds citizen receptions in Glubokoye, is aware of the region's problems, and helps with their funding.
In turn, Vladimir Pavlovich congratulated the teachers and students on this significant event, noting that in recent years, much attention has been paid in the republic, and particularly in the Vitebsk region, to the development of cultural facilities and the preservation of traditions. The Union of Artists of Belarus includes over 130 masters from our region. And how many talented poets and sculptors has this land nurtured! The deputy wished the students to become true masters of the brush and to love their native land. He presented the school's director, Zhanna Balabueva, with a gift certificate of 15 million rubles for the purchase of computer equipment.
Notably, an event important for Deepok residents took place in the year of the 125th anniversary of Jazep Drozdoch's birth. At the opening ceremony, local poet, member of the Union of Writers of Belarus Ales Zhigunov, read one of his poems dedicated to the famous countryman. An exhibition of students' works was displayed in the building's foyer.
A theatrical performance about Jazep Drozdoch and his students took place in one of the classrooms. The master taught them to create a "mirror of nature" on canvas, to depict the mysterious world of the soul, putting feelings and emotions into every stroke.
At the solemn event, the owner of the agro-tourist complex "Utryna" Svetlana Melnichenko, together with her sons Roman and Ruslan, former students of the art school, brought a valuable gift – a "malavany dyvan" (painted carpet), presumably a work by Jazep Drozdoch. An expert examination is planned to establish the authenticity of the drawing. In any case, the donated painting will be kept at the school along with two other "malavankas" by Jazep Narcizovich.
The art school has its own emblem – a snail with a brush. According to Zhanna Balabuyeva, studios for preschoolers and adults will open in the renovated building in the near future. The cozy school should become a second home for everyone who loves and appreciates art, dreams of becoming an artist, sculptor, or designer.
