A monument to cherry will appear in Glubokoye

On July 21, a monumental decorative sculpture "Cherry" will be solemnly opened in Glubokoye. Not long ago, the residents of Glubokoye named the cherry tree the symbol of their city. And to finally solidify this brand for themselves, they decided to hold a "Cherry Festival" there, which will last for a whole week - from July 21 to 27. The "cherry" festivities will begin with the opening of the cherry monument.

As reported in the department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, the height of the decorative composition will be more than 2 meters. The material is silumin. The sculpture will be a cylindrical pedestal stylized as a tree, on which a branch of ripe cherries with leaves will be placed. The silumin "berries" will be red, and the "leaves" will be green. Everything is as in nature. The author of the composition is the sculptor from Vitebsk, Ivan Kazak.

As a memento of the festival, a Cherry Street will also appear in Glubokoye. It will be located in the eastern part of the city, perpendicular to Raduzhnaya Street. This is next to a cherry orchard with about 1500 trees. The residents of Glubokoye planted it in April this year, specifically for the "Cherry Festival".

The festival program will include many themed events: the election of the "Cherry Queen", a cherry fair, an exhibition of cherry souvenirs, contests of culinary, photographic, artistic, landscape, and even hairdressing skills, the main heroine of which, of course, will be the cherry.
