The district center for patriotic education of youth was opened in Glubokoye
The center is located within the walls of the central district library. However, this does not mean that all events will be held exclusively in the "book temple." Here, primarily, activities will be coordinated and a unified strategy will be developed for the further formation of spiritual, moral, and personal qualities in the younger generation.
The first event, organized in the form of a dialogue, was dedicated to internationalist soldiers.
– Each such meeting takes us back to those distant lands where danger lurked every second. Five of our guys died in that war; their names are not forgotten in their homeland. On the contrary, a series of documentaries has been prepared, commemorative events and patriotism hours are held, – noted the chairman of the district organization of the NGO "Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan," Anton Zhdanovich. – A little earlier, a book was published about the natives of the region – veterans of those military operations.
Internationalist soldiers invited to the meeting recalled the hardships they had to endure in a foreign country, how they carried out combat missions, and dreamed of their native expanses in their sleep. Continuing the dialogue, representatives of the Youth Chamber of the district and activists of the BRSM reflected on what patriotism means to them and from what age one can be called a patriot. Opinions varied, but the meaning of all the words spoken came down to one thing – love for the Motherland.
– Patriotic education begins in the family and continues throughout life, – noted the military commissar of the Gluboksky and Sharkovshchinsky districts, Sergey Krasnodubsky. – A teacher who diligently teaches their subject day after day, educates, and nurtures children. Aren't they a patriot? Or a doctor who saves people's lives. A patriot is anyone who honestly and conscientiously performs their job, making a feasible contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.
Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee Tatyana Tarasevich called patriotism the invisible spiritual core of generations and emphasized the significance of such meetings for young people. In turn, the head of the department of ideological work, culture, and youth affairs of the District Executive Committee, Lyudmila Karnilovich, proposed organizing regular care for the graves of internationalist soldiers, as well as for the territory of Victory Park, as one of the forms of the center's work.
