New monuments of combat vehicles are being installed in Glubokoye
Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee Oleg Varsha reported that one of the aircraft, which has taken a place of honor near military equipment in Victory Park, will be ready by May 9, and the second, "parked" on the slope near Secondary School No. 1 named after P. Sukhoi, by July 3.
The appearance of combat vehicles did not surprise local residents and guests of the city. Glubokoye is the small homeland of the world-renowned aircraft designer Pavel Sukhoi. By the way, many years ago, as a sign of respect for the memory of this outstanding person, the Baranovichi Aircraft Repair Plant presented the city with a Su-17. This is not a model, but a real fuselage of a fighter jet that participated in the Afghan war. Its internal components, in particular, an ejection seat with the control panel of another fighter jet, are kept in the museum of the school named after Pavel Sukhoi.
Belarusians learned about the Glubokoye roots of the legendary aircraft designer thanks to Nikolai Tsarkov, a senior researcher at the Gomel Regional Museum of Local Lore, who had been studying the biography of Pavel Osipovich for many years. In November 1979, the Glubokoye district newspaper "Shlyakh Peramogi" published his article about Pavel Sukhoi.
Information about the famous countryman, Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of the Lenin and USSR State Prizes, who created more than 50 aircraft designs, served as the basis for the creation of the museum. Its collection includes over a thousand valuable exhibits, including photocopies of documents, newspaper articles and photographs, and aircraft models.
The open-air museum exhibits were transferred to the residents of Glubokoye free of charge. By the way, in the coming months, next to the military equipment in Victory Park, a T-72 tank will also be installed as a sign of eternal memory of those who gave their lives for a peaceful sky over the Motherland.
