Another cherry orchard will be planted in Glubokoye
The number of cherry orchards in Glubokoye is growing every year: today, another orchard will be laid in the cherry capital of Belarus, reported Elena Ustinova, press secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association.
The tree planting, timed to the Year of Small Motherland, will take place on the territory of the Glubokoye psycho-neurological boarding school. On an area of 0.5 hectares, employees and patients of this institution, as well as employees of the regional organization of the trade union of state institution workers, will plant 50 cherry saplings. The first Cherry Festival, which has become a branded event in Belarus in recent years, was held in Glubokoye in the summer of 2013. In April, the planting of a huge cherry orchard with 1414 trees was timed to its holding, and the sculpture "Glubokoye Cherry" adorned the city center. Since then, mass cherry planting events have become annual in the district. Such an event was also held this spring, noted in the Glubokoye District Executive Committee.
