A pre-conscription training center opened in Gorodok

A significant event has taken place at Secondary School No. 2 in Horadok. An inter-school pre-conscription training center has been opened in the educational institution, which has recently undergone major modernization. High school students from the district schools will study this subject, as well as the basics of medical assistance, here. Almost 190 students will gain knowledge that will certainly never be superfluous.

Horadok Secondary School No. 2 named after A.P. Sobolevsky welcomed this academic year completely transformed. A spacious, bright hall, cozy, renovated classrooms... Now there are two more state-of-the-art ones: medical and pre-conscription training. Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, who attended the event, spoke about the importance of such centers for patriotic education and career guidance for youth:

– The ancients used to say: if you want peace, prepare for war. And, probably, we live under a peaceful sky today because we have a strong army, strong Armed Forces that protect our Belarus. But it is necessary that young men who join the army, other security agencies, are truly ready for this. That is why such centers are being created. It is symbolic that in Horadok it appeared in School No. 2, which bears the name of Alexander Sobolevsky – the first medic in the history of the USSR to receive the Hero Star in peacetime.

Of course, not all "graduates" of the center will decide to become professional military personnel or security officers, but the basics they acquire will seriously help them in the army. And girls who have studied medical training may well consider enrolling in a medical university or college.

Vladimir Terentyev emphasized:

– It is also important that in such centers we will raise true patriots, people who understand that loving and defending the Motherland is the sacred duty of each of us.

Colonel Ruslan Shkodin, Military Commissar of the Vitebsk Region, is pleased with the opening at Secondary School No. 2:

– For the third year since the establishment of pre-conscription training centers, their effectiveness is beyond doubt. Tests are proof of this. I believe that for young men, this is serious, including moral and psychological, preparation for the army. In addition, the material and technical base of the centers allows for the development of clubs, sections, etc. for patriotic education on their basis. The equipment of the center in Gorodok is decent, it corresponds to the subject of "pre-conscription training". The only thing is that we will still work on supplementing it with training weapons.

School Principal Nina Efremova, in turn, thanked everyone who gave the educational institution the opportunity to proudly bear the status of a "school of the future":

– Confirming it, with our entire team, together with children and teachers, we will grow and develop every day. The pre-conscription training center is another opportunity for this. We are waiting for its material base to be replenished with mock-ups, topographic maps, and all the necessary equipment. And also – a shooting range.

What is the mood of the guys themselves when they attend classes?

Tenth-grader Kirill Ivanov from Secondary School No. 2 gives a thumbs up:

– Everything is super! Only a few lessons have passed, but each one was very interesting. My father served in the Airborne Forces, he parachuted, and I would also like to follow in his footsteps. Now there is everything you need for this.

His classmate Andrey Medvedev admits:

– Today was my debut in assembling an assault rifle. I'm happy as a clam, because I succeeded on the first try. What do I expect from the classes? I want to learn more about military equipment, and I also dream of shooting in the soon-to-be-promised shooting range.

When asked if he had considered military service, the young man answers readily: "Of course!" It is a matter of honor, as his great-grandfathers marched along the front lines of the Great Patriotic War and were awarded combat decorations. For example, Viktor Leonovich Medvedev, whom Andrey is very proud of, participated in the capture of Berlin.

In the medical training room, we witness a rescue operation of a "person." Girls are performing chest compressions on a mannequin, jokingly nicknamed Maxim.

Thirty compressions, two breaths, strives 16-year-old Nastya Kononovich:

– I am sure that such knowledge and skills will be useful. Yes, it's better if situations where others' lives depend on you don't happen, but if they do, it's important to be prepared. And for me, knowing everything thoroughly is simply a must, because the strictest teacher will ask the questions (laughs). That's my mother, Irina Mikhailovna, who teaches us medical training.

The pre-conscription training center in Gorodok became the 18th in the Vitebsk region. Soon, similar structures will appear in Beshenkovichi and Miory districts.
