In Gorodok, a workshop of SOOO "Belvest" for sewing shoe uppers has started its work
As Deputy General Director of the company Sergey Shapovalov stated, this is the second production unit of the footwear enterprise operating in a small town in the region. The necessity of its creation is dictated by the business development plan of "Belwest" for the coming years, which provides for an increase in the volume of footwear production and sales in domestic and foreign markets.
The enterprise invested more than 1 billion rubles in the purchase of the latest equipment from Italian and German manufacturers for the Gorodok site. The design capacity of the new production is 700 pairs of blanks per shift. Currently, 40 residents of the district center are employed here.
As Sergey Shapovalov noted, "Belwest" also continues to develop the production unit for assembling footwear uppers in Beshenkovichi, opened last year. By the end of 2014, production capacities here will be increased by one and a half times.
Today, the enterprise operates on a full cycle, from cutting leather blanks, manufacturing soles and heels to producing finished products. In 2013, 2 million pairs of shoes came off the assembly line, two-thirds of which were exported.
