An regional seminar on the topic "The impact of climate on occupational safety and health" was held in Gorodok.
An oblast seminar on "The Impact of Climate on Occupational Safety and Health" is being held in Horadok.
Heads and specialists in labor protection from departments, enterprises, and organizations from all over the Vitebsk region gathered in the district center. During the field meeting, representatives of the oblast executive committee, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, and other relevant services analyzed the situation with industrial injuries in the region in the current and previous years. They informed the attendees about the factors of the working environment as components of safe and health-preserving working conditions, and how climate change affects the main sectors of the economy. The guests also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the approaches to organizing labor protection by their colleagues from Horadok district. A highlight of the meeting was the demonstration of practical skills by local rescuers, law enforcement officers, gas workers, and medical personnel. They simulated an accident resulting from a violation of labor protection rules by a contracting organization during construction work on a building's roof.
As emphasized by Boris Efremov, Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Oblast Executive Committee, the main benefit of such meetings is the opportunity for specialists to exchange experience and hone their theoretical and practical skills.
