The remains of soldiers killed during the war will be reburied in the Gorodok district
Today, a solemn reburial of the remains of Red Army soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War in battles for the liberation of Gorodok district from the Nazi invaders will take place in the urban settlement of Ezerishche, the Main Directorate for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee reported.
The remains of six Soviet servicemen were found during search operations conducted in October by servicemen of the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion together with the "RVS" search team from Novopolotsk near the village of Bolotnitsa. There were no personal identification items among the remains, so the names of the fallen could not be identified.
In October-November 1943, Soviet troops were stationed near the borders of Gorodok district. In the vicinity of the villages of Bolotnitsa and Morozovo of the Ezerishchensky rural council, protracted offensive battles took place with the participation of the 235th and 360th Rifle Divisions.
