In the Kokhanovo Lyceum, for the first time, operators of earth-moving machinery are being trained for graduation
Annually, the Kokhanovo Vocational Lyceum graduates up to 100 specialists – machine operators, repair fitters, sewing machine operators. Their knowledge and skills acquired at the educational institution are in high demand in production. And this year, for the first time, 50 earthmoving machine operators will graduate. Students from Tolochin, Kruglyansky, and Krupki districts study here under targeted assignments; the profession they are acquiring is currently in deficit in the labor market.
From February 1, 30 employees of land reclamation organizations will also take their seats in classrooms in Kokhanovo to undergo retraining. Already during their studies, lyceum students get acquainted with new equipment and learn to operate modern machinery. Recently, the lyceum acquired an EW-1500 excavator manufactured by the Kokhanovo Excavator Plant, costing 850 million rubles. 700 million were allocated by the regional executive committee's education department, the rest being its own funds.
By the way, the vocational lyceum exceeded its plan for non-budgetary activities by more than two times, earning 1480 million rubles in 2012. These funds were used to strengthen the material and technical base, finance various student events, support students from low-income families, etc.
