Divine services will be held in Vitebsk on Epiphany Eve

Divine services on the Eve of Theophany and the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord

On January 18, 2015, on the Eve of Theophany (Theophany Eve), in the morning, Divine Liturgy, the 9th Hour, and Great Vespers will be held in the churches of the Vitebsk Diocese. After Vespers, the rite of the Great Blessing of Water will take place. In the evening, on the eve of the Epiphany of the Lord, the All-Night Vigil will be held.

On January 19, 2015, on the Feast of the Holy Epiphany, the Baptism of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, believers will be able to pray at Divine Liturgy in the churches of the diocese, after which the rite of the Great Blessing of Water will be performed.

On Theophany Eve, in the Assumption Cathedral of the city of Vitebsk, divine services will be held in the morning at 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, as well as in the evening at 5:00 PM. On the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord, services will be held at 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM.

In the crypt church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, on the eve of Theophany, divine services will be held in the morning at 8:00 AM and in the evening at 6:00 PM. On the feast day, the divine service will begin at 7:00 AM.

At the spring of Saint Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, located near the church of the Holy Martyr Thaddeus on 39th Army Street, the blessing of water will take place on the Eve of the Feast and on the Feast Day at 11:30 AM and 10:00 AM, respectively.

At the spring of Saint George the Victorious on Yurieva Hill (a forest park in the western part of Vitebsk, in the Zheleznodorozhny District), the blessing of water will take place on the eve of the Feast at 8:30 PM and on the Feast Day after the Divine Liturgy at 11:30 AM.

At the spring of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, near the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in the village of Luzhesno, the blessing of water will take place on the eve of the Feast at 12:00 PM, as well as on the Feast Day after the Divine Liturgy, which will begin at 9:00 AM.

On the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord, after the Liturgy, a procession will take place from the Church of the Holy Trinity of the city of Gorodok to the spring in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Life-Giving Spring”. Upon arrival, the opening of the spring and bathing facilities, restored for the holiday, is planned, as well as the Great Blessing of Water.
