In Krynki, the remains of 47 victims of the Great Patriotic War were reburied

В Крынках перезахоронили останки 47 жертв Великой Отечественной войны
The reburial of the remains of 47 victims of the Great Patriotic War took place in the agro-town of Krynki, Liozno district.

The remains of the victims of the Great Patriotic War were discovered by the 52nd specialized search battalion of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus during field search operations 5 km from the village of Kuchinshchina, on a hill between the left bank of the Luchosa River and its old channel.

– Today is a sorrowful and at the same time solemn event – the reburial of the remains of 47 citizens of the country, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev. – The most terrible thing is that here, along with men and the elderly, lie innocent young children who died because of the revenge of those who could not defeat the Red Army and Belarusian partisans. We thank the 52nd separate specialized search battalion, which is conducting these searches. Many thanks to the Prosecutor General's Office and its departments, which are carrying out this titanic work in the archives to find data on the facts of the genocide of the Belarusian people and possible burial sites of Nazi victims.

Searchers did not find fragments of clothing, footwear, or military insignia at the burial site. This suggests that the people were brought without clothes and, probably, already dead. Most likely, the discovered remains belong to the shot civilians of the surrounding villages of Kuchinshchina and Ukrainshche. A genetic examination of the remains was carried out, but it was not possible to establish the names of the deceased.

- The expertise established that the remains belong to at least 47 individuals, including at least 5 children, - noted Vladimir Guk, Deputy Prosecutor of the Vitebsk region. - It has been established that the time of their death dates back to the Great Patriotic War. Thus, we conclude that these are victims of genocide, the policy of which was carried out by the authorities of Nazi Germany. Who are these people? It is not yet possible to establish the circumstances of their death; archival documents also do not mention any punitive operations in this region. This fact becomes part of the criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people and opens a new page in the history of our country.
