In Lepel, a felt boot race will be held for the first time on January 24

In Lepel on January 24, a felt boot race will be held for the first time during the sports and mass event "Big Health Day," reported Victoria Pshonko, the first secretary of the Lepel District Committee of the BRSM.

"This is a kind of analogy to the high-heel race that was held in the district center in the summer. What's noteworthy is that mostly women have applied to participate in the race. Such an event will take place for the first time here," said Victoria Pshonko.

The race will be divided into four categories: men's, women's, children's, and in carnival costumes. The theme of carnival outfits is not limited; everyone can choose the image they like, as long as it's warm. A separate prize is awarded for the best costume.

Participants will have to cover a certain distance. For those who take second and third places, gifts are provided - thermal mugs with the race logo. Winners will receive felt boots as a commemorative souvenir. "There are sweet prizes and encouragement gifts for all children participating in the race. There is no age limit for children, but, of course, we will form groups so that participants are on equal terms," noted Victoria Pshonko. She added that some event sponsors will also present their personal prizes.

The race will take place in the city park. To keep participants from freezing while waiting for their turn at the start, and for spectators to enjoy an exciting spectacle, hot drinks and snacks will be available here. Before the race begins, young athletes will have a surprise: a special guest of the event will conduct a football master class.

The initiators of the event are the district executive committee, the BRSM, and the staff of the Lepel Physical Culture and Recreation Center. "Fitness instructor Alla Salnikova, who previously organized the high-heel race, suggested transforming the already familiar event into a winter festival. Women attending her classes immediately signed up for the race. Therefore, for now, they have the advantage. We hope that by January 24, other participants will join. We also invite residents of other districts to come to Lepel and try their luck in the race. We promise it will be fun," emphasized Victoria Pshonko.
