Lepel discussed the prospects of housing construction in the Vitebsk region

Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee held an off-site meeting in Lepel. The agenda included issues of housing construction, creation of comfortable living conditions, and preparation for stall housing of cattle. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, and Aide to the President – Inspector for Vitebsk Oblast Anatoly Linevich.

The head of the region, Alexander Subbotin, emphasized that the issues on the agenda are relevant. The housing construction topic causes some concern: the targets for its commissioning are not being met in many regions of the oblast. There are also shortcomings at agricultural enterprises in the Lepel district, where order needs to be established. Today, there will be an opportunity to see how the shortcomings pointed out a week ago are being eliminated.

Alexander Subbotin stressed that all funds allocated for construction must be fully utilized.

The Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, Alexander Shidlovsky, will speak on the issue of fulfilling the tasks for the construction and commissioning of total residential area in 2022.

In the oblast, as of July 1, there was a slight lag in construction rates: in the first half of the year, over 126 thousand square meters were commissioned in the Vitebsk region, which is slightly more than 33%, a figure that is 2% below the planned target. As noted by the Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, Alexander Shidlovsky, 11 districts of the oblast are not coping with the assigned tasks. "One of the main reasons is the reduction in construction volumes, which is a twofold decrease in the number of employees in the construction industry. A total of 13.2 thousand people work in this sector. For example, Orsha has a severe shortage of bricklayers. Recently, the outflow of personnel has slowed down slightly, but overall the situation is complex," said the head of the committee.

One of the solutions to this problem, according to Alexander Shidlovsky, lies in the cooperation between construction organizations and educational institutions that train specialists in this field. "By the end of the third quarter, we will hold a round table in the region, where we will gather the heads of construction organizations and young people who have chosen construction specialties, and discuss what specialists are needed at the construction sites of the region, what plans and expectations students have for their future profession, how much they would like to earn, and where they expect to find employment," noted Alexander Shidlovsky.

The head of the main department of housing and communal services of the regional executive committee, Yuri Dyadyolo, will report on the progress of the State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment" for 2021-2025 in the Vitebsk region.

The chairman of the committee for agriculture and food of the regional executive committee, Sergey Egorov, will talk about how agricultural organizations in the region are preparing for winter stall housing of cattle.

Participants of the field meeting will visit the dairy breeding complex of SPF "Zaozerie" in the Lepel district, where they will learn about the technology of keeping calves up to two months old in individual hutches under a canopy. At the MTF "Lyadno" of OJSC "Lepelagroservice", they will see how the preparation of livestock premises for winter stall housing is proceeding.
