The building of the district prosecutor's office was opened in Lepel after major repairs and modernization

The prosecutor's office building was constructed in 1977 and has not been renovated since then. This year, over 2.5 months, builders carried out a major renovation both inside and out: the facade and utilities were updated, new ceiling slabs were installed, and a separate office for receiving citizens was equipped. Additionally, a special lift for people with disabilities was installed at the entrance, and a parking space for disabled individuals was created.

Representatives of local authorities, colleagues from other departments, Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor Vadim Sushchinsky, and Prosecutor General of Belarus Andrei Shved took part in the opening ceremony.

The Prosecutor General of Belarus noted that the renovation of the prosecutor's office is a small but important step in strengthening law and order and stability in society. When employees are provided with decent working conditions and equipment, it allows them to perform their duties more effectively. "Creating conditions is part of the job. The main thing is the people who will work in these offices. What they have in their hearts and minds, how they are motivated to perform their professional duty," said Andrei Shved.

During the ceremony, he handed over the keys to a new passenger car to the local prosecutors. Additionally, Vitaly Zhigimont, the prosecutor of Lepel District, was awarded the rank of Justice Counselor.

Speaking to journalists, Andrei Shved emphasized that the current task is to selectively modernize facilities that require it. "We are talking about several district prosecutor's offices, and we will undertake a serious modernization of the Minsk Regional Prosecutor's Office. Starting next year, we will begin a major overhaul of the Prosecutor General's Office to give it a modern look, not only externally but, most importantly, to renovate the workplaces internally and adapt the prosecutor's offices to the conditions created in most government bodies. We will implement this task within a few years," added the Prosecutor General.
