A center for social, domestic, and vocational rehabilitation of disabled people will be built in Lepel
Several "hotlines" were held in Lepel, during which citizens received answers to all questions concerning pension provision, home care, organization of leisure for the elderly, etc. In particular, residents of Lepel were interested in the construction of a center for social, domestic and labor rehabilitation of disabled people. Of course, today the Territorial Center for Social Services actively works with this category of people, but the conditions leave much to be desired, and they have to work in shifts.
As reported by Vasily Ravovoy, Head of the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the District Executive Committee, a significant social facility will be built using modern environmental technologies jointly with the International Non-Governmental Organization "EcoStroy" and the German charitable organization "Homes instead of Chernobyl". The design and estimate documentation has already been prepared and is undergoing state expertise; almost 550 million rubles were allocated from the district budget for it. A package of necessary documents has been collected and sent to Germany: the project has been approved, and the proposal is currently being considered by the Ministry of Finance of that country. We are talking about allocating 200 thousand euros for the construction of the first phase and the same amount for the second. The total cost of the initiative is 12 billion Belarusian rubles, and in addition to sponsor funds, budget investments will be attracted.
The first phase, which includes the main building and utilities, is planned to be erected in 2016, and the second phase in 2017. There will be workshops for the production of sewing products and souvenirs, wood and metal processing, a plant growers' club, greenhouses, and much more necessary for the successful social, domestic and labor rehabilitation of disabled people. By the way, the residents of Lepel intend to use the experience of Germany in organizing similar work, which specialists learned about during a visit to that country.
