In the Lepel district, a round table discussion was held on the upcoming constitutional reform

В Лепельском районе в формате круглого стола состоялось обсуждение предстоящей конституционной реформы
Improving the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, making amendments to it, is an issue that is currently on the minds of the citizens of our country. At present, the upcoming constitutional reform is being discussed at many regional dialogue platforms, where everyone can express their proposals and ideas. A discussion on this topic in a round table format also took place in the Lepel district.

Such meetings are not held by chance. Preparations are underway for the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, which is intended to be a platform for real dialogue on developing the country's development strategy. Life does not stand still, the need for transformation arises. But this issue should be approached reasonably, civilizedly, through dialogue and discussion, emphasized Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, at the meeting.

During the conversation, various topics were raised, including the powers of local authorities, the procedure for appointing and approving officials, and many others. And different opinions were expressed on each issue.

Vasily Bodyai, a deputy of the district council of deputies and chairman of the Gorsky village council, raised the issue of the flexibility of forming the institute of deputies. 3 thousand people live in the village council, of which 2200 are in the village of Zaslonovo, 320 in Mezhitse (these are former military towns), and there are few residents in the remaining villages. 11 districts have been formed, accordingly, 11 deputies. Of these, 9 are in Zaslonovo, one in Mezhitse, and one for all the remaining settlements.

– As the chairman of the village council, it would be more convenient for me to work if there was one deputy for every 2-3 small remote villages, rather than so many in Zaslonovo, – he emphasized. – It would be possible to have more accurate information on snow removal in winter, landscaping of all remote settlements in the warm season, and other issues.

Nikolay Sinitsyn, Chairman of the Kamensky village council, supported his colleague, and also touched upon the issue of elders during the discussion of this issue, who actively help their fellow villagers solve many problems. These people enjoy great respect and authority among the population.

– Currently, there is a heavy workload in the village councils, primarily for the chairperson and the administrator of affairs. This is especially true for document management. The Bobrovskoye village council territory includes 33 settlements, and it is necessary to visit each one to assist the villagers. Deputies and elders help with this, said Tamara Yarygo, chairperson of the Bobrovskoye village council.

All attendees joined the discussion on the topic. Some were in favor of changing the institute of deputies, while others supported the currently existing system.

As noted by Natalya Naimushina, deputy of the Borovskoye Village Council of Deputies and chairperson of the Borovka house committee, she had many ideas and proposals when she came to the meeting, but during the conversation, she realized that the social system that currently exists is already well-established. Perhaps the number of deputies needs to be changed, but this connecting link is still necessary in society. After all, people turn to deputies and elders with their requests and problems, trusting them.

Vladimir Terentyev, summarizing the results, emphasized that the creation of a dialogue platform provides an opportunity to discuss many issues of our state's functioning. After all, interesting and useful proposals are born in the process of discussion, which will be considered at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly.
