В Лепельском районе заложили Аллею единства, открыли мастерские в ТЦСОН и модернизированную школу в Боровке
The City Day celebration in Lepel began with pleasant events: the Alley of Unity was laid near Secondary School No. 3, culinary and horticultural workshops for people with disabilities were opened at the Territorial Center for Social Services (TCSO), and the Borovskaya Secondary School was presented after modernization. The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, took part in the events.

Alley of Unity

It so happened that the 30th anniversary of Belagroprombank OJSC coincided with the city events. On the initiative of the bankers and with the support of the local authorities, employees of the banking services center, together with their children, planted 30 red maples on the territory of Lepel Secondary School No. 3. Teachers and schoolchildren, as well as residents of the district center, joined the initiative. Such unity of interests and goals – to make the city beautiful and comfortable – unites everyone.

Realize Yourself

Completely new horizons are opening up for 53 people with disabilities who attend the day care department of the Lepel District TCSO. Now people with disabilities will be able to study in culinary and horticultural workshops, where they will learn to bake bakery products, prepare coffee, and make fresh juices from fruits, and in the horticultural workshop – to grow vegetable crops and plant seedlings for sale to the public.

The humanitarian project to build capacity in working with people with disabilities has been implemented in Lepel since 2019 with the support of the charitable association "EcoStroitel" and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation (Germany). As emphasized by Zinaida Simako, the director of the TCSO, the project aims to improve the quality and expand the range of social services for people with disabilities by strengthening the material and technical base of the center.

– This is precisely a case where the project is implemented not for the sake of the project itself, but so that people with disabilities can realize themselves, meet, communicate, and work, – emphasized Vladimir Terentyev and expressed his immense gratitude to everyone who participated in this project.

By the way. The plans include the construction of a center for social adaptation, rehabilitation, education, housing for people with disabilities, and a temporary shelter, which is planned to be commissioned in 2022. The project has public significance for the region, as the accessibility of services for people with disabilities in the day care department, including those from rural areas, will increase.

Rural, but well-equipped

A wonderful gift for September 1st was received not only by the students of Borovskaya Secondary School but also by adults. After modernization, the educational institution appeared in a completely new guise.

After major repairs, biology, robotics, technical and service labor classrooms appeared, and sports facilities became more functional and in demand. Repairs and modernization of the school stadium, a volleyball court combined with a tennis court and the installation of artificial turf, and a sports hall with the purchase of new equipment were carried out.

About two million rubles were allocated for the implementation of this project by the IBRD.

The school principal, Dianna Misina, reported that although their educational institution is rural, its graduates achieve significant results in both academics and sports. Suffice it to say that out of 13 students, 11 were admitted to universities.

Vladimir Terentyev congratulated everyone on the start of the new academic year and wished the children to be proud of their school and their small homeland. "Much is being done in the educational institution to ensure that every student finds themselves, demonstrates their abilities, and moves forward.

The school in Borovka is a center where students not only gain knowledge but also a range of social services; all conditions have been created here for the active leisure of adults and children."
