В Медиацентре Витебской области прошла пресс-конференция о подготовке к «Славянскому базару»
How Vitebsk is preparing for the "Slavianski Bazaar", what surprises await the residents and guests of the festival city, who will represent Belarus at the international competitions – answers to these and other questions were voiced at a press conference held today at the Vitebsk Region Media Center.

The speakers included Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Viktor Glushin, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, and Gleb Lapitsky, Director of the International Festival of Arts. Sofia Rustamova and Samir Elchiev, winners of the national selections for the children's and adult song contests, joined the conversation via video link.

In addition to media representatives, young journalists and bloggers attending club activities, as well as students of VSU named after P.M. Masherov, participated in the press conference. The first "random question for non-random people" was posed to the speakers. Vyacheslav Durnov was asked to admit whether he had dreamed of performing on the stage of the Summer Amphitheater, and Gleb Lapitsky – to name his favorite music band in his youth.

After a fun warm-up, the meeting participants moved on to the main topic.

– Every "Slavianski Bazaar" has its own unique feature, and this year's festival will also delight participants and guests of the forum in its own way. For everything to come together, there is a lot of work ahead, which is currently in full swing. The changeable winter, with frosts and thaws, added to the concerns. But together we will overcome the difficulties, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov.

Viktor Glushin spoke about the preparation of the festival capital, which is being carried out in various directions. This primarily includes repair work, road paving, facade painting, and renovation of concert venues. New art objects will appear, in particular, a model of the old city near the city hall.

– The main purpose of the festival is to please the audience, – emphasized Gleb Lapitsky.

“Slavianski Bazaar” strives to meet the demands of various age categories of viewers and cater to different artistic tastes. In the program of the current forum, you can find something that resonates with your soul – classical music, an interesting theatrical production, meetings with your favorite pop artist or group. The festive atmosphere will be created by the Street Art Fest, as well as folk celebrations. The gypsy theater “Romen”, a guitar trio from Barcelona, Sergey Lazarev, Viktor Saltykov, the groups “Smyslovye Gallyutsinatsii”, “Agata Kristi”, “Na-Na”, and many other popular artists will come to the arts forum.

Young journalists took an active part in the press conference, not only asking interesting questions but also offering several ideas to the organizers. In particular, they suggested organizing a children's City of Masters and creating a mascot – a cornflower doll for hugs. The latter suggestion was noted by Gleb Lapitsky, who presented a gift to its author – Anya Beley, a participant of the children's TV studio “Talented Children” by Ksenia Osmolovskaya.
