In Miory, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko received citizens

A Big Conversation is Big Work. Over 70 citizens' appeals were received by the Head of State from the Vitebsk region during the preparation and holding of the "Big Conversation with the President". How are the requests and wishes being fulfilled, and how promptly and effectively are local authorities solving people's problems? To find out firsthand, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Petrishenko, held a personal reception of citizens in the Miory district.

Checheslav Kashkur and Raisa Parfenenko came to express their gratitude for the construction of the new Central District Hospital, but on behalf of the district residents, they also made a request: Miory needs a new polyclinic. The district has about 20,000 people, including almost seven thousand pensioners. Over 1.1 thousand people are aged 80 and older. Therefore, strengthening the polyclinic link within easy reach of patients' homes is an urgent necessity.

Especially since the development prospects of the district as a whole are obvious. A unique plant for the production of sheet metal and tinplate is being built here, unique for Belarus. During the consideration of this issue, the Deputy Prime Minister, together with the leadership of the Miory District Executive Committee, also discussed the issue of updating the social sphere of the region as a whole. Igor Petrishenko emphasized that everything possible must be done to retain young personnel in the district and create appropriate conditions for this.

Pensioner Alevtina Kondratovich has been in conflict with her neighbor over a land issue for several years. The case was considered in court. The decision was not in her favor, but the applicant insists on her rightness. She has gone through numerous instances. Now she refuses to accept documents for the land plot. The resident of Miory was promised that the situation would be studied again and help would be provided with the paperwork.

After the reception of citizens, Igor Viktorovich visited the Miory Central District Hospital. The new building, which now houses operating rooms, a laboratory, intensive care, surgical, pediatric, admission and diagnostic, obstetric, and other departments, was commissioned less than a year ago. This is a strategically important facility for the region, as previously the hospital's units consisted of more than a dozen buildings and were located in different parts of the district center. The modern three-story building, the construction of which began back in 1992 but was subsequently frozen, was completed in just a couple of years thanks to the republican and regional budgets. The construction and equipping of the clinic cost more than 21 million rubles. This year, 23 babies have already been born here, one of whom was saved only thanks to high-tech equipment. The child was born significantly prematurely and weighed only one kilogram, but local doctors acted quickly, and now the girl is gaining strength at the regional children's hospital.

After moving into the new Central District Hospital, the volume of medical care provided has significantly increased, and recent university and medical school graduates are eager to work here. Over the past three years, the staff of the district healthcare system has been replenished annually by an average of 20 young doctors and nurses.

During his visit, the Deputy Prime Minister visited a school and a kindergarten, as well as a plant under construction for the production of tinplate. The enterprise plans to produce its first products by the end of this year and will create about five hundred jobs. Over 200 million euros have already been invested in the implementation of this international project with foreign capital. The enterprise's readiness is about 80 percent. The new production will give a powerful impetus to the region's development.

By the way, an agreement has already been reached with the owners of this enterprise on the construction of a German medical cardiology center in the Miory district. They will bear all the costs of its construction. Work is currently underway on the design documentation, and a land plot has been allocated for the implementation of the project. The medical center will not only serve the plant's employees and provide a wide range of export medical services, but will also undertake the responsibility of providing X-ray endovascular care to residents of the six nearest districts of the Vitebsk region free of charge.
