About 150 children will study at the new art school in Vitebsk

With the arrival of spring and the opening of a new building for Children's Art School No. 6 (CAS) in the Ruba microdistrict of Vitebsk on the eve of the women's holiday, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, congratulated the protagonists of the celebration.

The spacious CAS is now located in the reconstructed and modernized three-story building of the former household services center. Previously, the cultural institution was cramped for 38 years in a former single-story canteen, with children studying in small rooms. Now, fans of musical art have a new bright home and an excellent base for nurturing young geniuses.

"I believe that both children and adults will learn to play and realize their talents here. The opening of the art school will be one of the building blocks in the construction and renewal of the microdistrict, and we will be able to make it more beautiful and comfortable," noted the head of the region, who himself lived in Ruba for a long time, which was considered a settlement at that time and was incorporated into the territory of Vitebsk in 2017.

The CAS now has 16 classrooms for lessons, an assembly hall, shower rooms, restrooms, and a choreography hall. The building's reconstruction also took future prospects into account, so the dance hall was not opened here by chance: in the new academic year, the CAS will open a choreography department and enroll about 40 children. Currently, 105 boys and girls are studying here in the departments of piano, guitar, dulcimer, accordion, violin, and choir. "The CAS has new furniture, musical instruments (we were presented with 16 pianos, dulcimers, violins), and new acoustic equipment for the assembly hall," said the director of the CAS, Ekaterina Karpova.

The head of the school also noted that the cultural institution has a strong team of guitarists, who participate in various music competitions of different levels and regularly become prize-winners and winners. With the opening of the new building, teachers, children, and parents hope for a new stage of development of the Children's Art School and an expansion of the range of creative opportunities for all residents of Rublevka.-0-
